All programs are offered at Westchester EOC’s primary location, in downtown Yonkers, unless otherwise indicated. Additional classes may be added.
This program prepares students for clerical support roles in healthcare, with training in medical records, terminology, billing and coding, scheduling, customer service, and office procedures. Students also complete HIPAA training and are eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam.
This program prepares students for entry-level roles in medical billing, coding, and health information management. Coursework covers medical procedures, insurance claims, records management, and computer skills. Graduates are eligible to take the NHA Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) exam and qualify for positions such as biller, coder, records clerk, or insurance claims clerk.
This New York State–approved program offers dual training as a Home Health Aide and Certified Nurse Aide. Students learn medical terminology, patient care, and personal care skills for the elderly, homebound, and those in long-term care or hospital settings. The program prepares students for state certification, registration on the NYS Home Care Registry, and includes two supervised clinical experiences.
Offered in partnership with CVS, this program trains students for careers in the growing pharmacy field. Students learn to prepare medications, provide customer service, and handle administrative duties in retail, hospital, and clinical settings. The program prepares graduates for the nationally recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, with opportunities for employment at CVS and other pharmacies.
This program prepares students for careers as Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technicians through hands-on training with professional medical equipment. Coursework covers medical terminology, anatomy and physiology of the heart, electrophysiology principles, and recognizing EKG wave patterns. Students also learn techniques for accurate EKG recording and performing EKGs on patients.
This New York State–approved program prepares students to respond to emergency calls, perform medical procedures, and transport patients to hospitals. Training includes CPR, defibrillation, and crisis response skills, along with a 10-hour clinical rotation in an emergency department. Graduates are eligible to take the NYS Department of Health EMT certification exam.
This program prepares students for careers as Phlebotomy Technicians through hands-on training with professional medical equipment. Students learn techniques for collecting blood samples, venipuncture and skin puncture procedures, and the use of color-coded tubes. Training includes practice on artificial arms to build accuracy and confidence.
This program prepares students for employment as commercial drivers through classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training. Students review the road manual, practice with professional CDL trainers, and prepare for the CDL exam with Air Brakes endorsement. Graduates will be qualified to drive school buses, tour buses, trucks, vans, and other commercial vehicles, with an emphasis on career-readiness skills.
This program prepares students for employment as Home Health Aides, providing essential training in personal and home care. Students learn skills such as housekeeping, feeding, and bathing to support the elderly and homebound in their homes.
This program prepares students for entry-level positions as security officers, with training in report writing, first aid, investigative techniques, and communication skills. Graduates earn New York State security guard registration and an NYC Fire Department (FD) Certificate of Fitness.
This program prepares students for construction industry positions with advanced training in workplace safety and health. Coursework covers managing safety practices, personal protective equipment, electrical safety, asbestos, fall protection, ladder safety, and heavy equipment operation, including cranes and forklifts.
This program helps students prepare academically and personally for the college experience, with emphasis on reading, writing, math, and placement exam readiness. Students also participate in weekly College Connections workshops on study skills, time management, and career planning, as well as college tours and assistance with enrollment and financial aid applications.
This program develops English language skills for the workplace, college, or vocational programs, with instruction in reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and vocabulary. Emphasizing academic and career readiness, the curriculum connects classroom learning to real-life situations, helping students build confidence, workforce skills, and academic preparedness from basic to high-intermediate levels.
This program helps students prepare for and pass the HSE exam. After placement assessment, students receive instruction in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies at the appropriate level and progress at their own pace. Upon completion, students take the HSE exam on-site at our Center, an official New York State Department of Education test site.
