HHA Training in Westchester NY - Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide (CNA/HHA)

Description: This program is specifically designed for caring individuals interested in health care careers who wish to receive dual training as Home Health Aides and Certified Nurse Aides. It prepares students to pass the New York State certification examination and gain registration on the New York State Home Care Registry. Through this home health aide training in Westchester, students learn essential medical terminology, abbreviations, the functions of body systems, and patient care. This New York State-approved program covers the basics of personal care for the elderly and home-bound, as well as patient care for those in nursing homes, assisted living centers, and hospitals. Training includes appropriate bed-making, feeding, and monitoring of vital signs. Students will be required to successfully complete two supervised clinical work experiences during their home health aide training in Westchester County. 


Entrance Requirements: 

- Required TABE entrance exam to determine eligibility 

- High School Diploma or HSE/GED 

- Ability to pass a physical exam, drug test, and background check 

- Interest in the health field 

- Completed physical exam and drug test prior to the first day of class 

- New York State Clearance and fingerprinting required for employment 

- A uniform and appropriate shoes must be worn by the first day of class. 


Class Time/Duration: 11-14 weeks / 20-25 hours per week / day & evening classes.
