When do classes start?
Program start dates vary and depend on enrollment. Most programs follow general seasonal sessions. Specific start dates are shared once enrollment is confirmed.
Are classes offered online?
At this time, most classes are held in person at our Yonkers location.
I work full time. Are there evening classes?
Some programs offer evening schedules that may accommodate full time work hours. Availability varies by program.
Am I enrolled once I submit an application?
No. Enrollment is completed by an admissions counselor. Once your application is reviewed and approved, a counselor will guide you through the enrollment process.
I applied more than six months ago. What should I do?
Please contact Admissions directly. We are happy to review your application status and discuss next steps.
Are my files and documents secure?
Yes. All applicant records and documents are kept secure and confidential.
What documents do I need to bring?
Required documents vary by program. Please refer to our How to Apply page for a full list.
I receive SNAP but not public assistance. Can I use my budget sheet?
No. A different income verification document is required. Admissions can advise on acceptable alternatives.
Can I submit W-2s or pay stubs instead?
In some cases, yes. Admissions will confirm which documents are acceptable.
I did not file taxes. What can I submit?
We accept a Non-Filing Letter from the IRS.
Can I still take classes if I am over the income limit?
Possibly. Eligibility may vary based on individual circumstances. Please contact Admissions to discuss any extenuating circumstances.
I cannot afford to pay for classes.
Our programs are tuition free for eligible students. Admissions can review your eligibility and available options.
Can I take classes without a Social Security number?
Some programs allow enrollment without a Social Security number. Vocational programs require a valid SSN. If you have a Tax Identification Number (TIN), please contact Admissions for guidance.
Do I need to retake all GED or Regents exams?
No. Previously completed exams do not need to be retaken.
If I complete my GED or HSE, can I return to take another class?
Yes. Students who complete their GED or HSE are encouraged to return for additional programs.
I completed GED or HSE in the past. Can I still enroll in other programs?
Yes. We recommend contacting Admissions to discuss program options and any eligibility considerations.
Can I return to take the same program again?
No. Students cannot enroll in the same program more than once.
I completed CNA. Can I return to take EKG or another healthcare program?
Possibly. Eligibility depends on timing and program requirements. Please contact Admissions for review.
I took a class at another EOC. Can I take a class at Westchester EOC?
Yes, in most cases. Admissions will review your prior enrollment to confirm eligibility.
