PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN (PCT)

Description: This program provides knowledge and hands-on training with professional medical equipment to prepare students as Patient Care Technicians. Patient Care Technician (PCT) training reviews the basic nursing procedures, phlebotomy, and EKG used in various clinical settings. Students learn the basic principles of comprehensive care needed by patients.


Entrance Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or HSE
  • One of the following: current NYS Nurse Aide Certification or current NYS EMT Certification (must present the transcripts)
  • Successful completion of EKG and Phlebotomy courses (must present the transcripts)


Class Time/Duration: 2 weeks / 10 to 15 hours per week / day & evening classes


Additional Information: Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the NHA’s PCT Technician Certification Exam.
