Description: In 1992, the New York State Legislature passed the Security Guard Act, requiring that all security guards in the state be registered and receive mandated training in a series of courses. The program includes topics such as the duties and responsibilities of a security guard, which includes the role of a security guard as well as the legal powers and limitations of the role. The program addresses how to handle emergency situations, the importance of communication and public relations, access and control, as well as the importance of conducting oneself in an ethical manner.
Entrance Requirements:
Class Time/Duration: 2 weeks / 20-23 hours per week / day and evening classes
